Worldschooling – International Version

It’s been awhile since we’ve caught up with our travels. We thought we would post highlights from our activities with photos. While we are sad our month in Italy got shut down thanks to coronavirus shutting down their borders…we are glad we left for our traveling year earlier rather than later. We are so thankful for the amazing adventure we have had!

Sevilla was amazing!
Catedral de Sevilla – the largest gothic cathedral in the world
Alcazar castle
The gardens of the castle
Navigating the streets of Sevilla – our daughter got the hang of it, and we just followed her around
Plaza de Espana (But we didn’t see R2-D2)
Flamenco!
Natural Dune Reserve of Maspalomas
(Technically our fourth continent of this trip — part of Spain but off the coast of North Africa)
Gran Canaria — Hiking in the volcanic landscape
More hiking on Gran Canaria
Not sure this was educational…but it was fun!
Palmitos Park – the most incredible zoo for birds we’ve seen
Camel riding!
Bit of a change to the streets of London
We did see the sun in London…just not on this day
The girls loved the birds, ducks, geese, swans in the parks of London
Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace
Princess Diana’s Memorial Playground..it was very cool
Stonehenge
Edinburgh Castle, Scotland
Hike to Arthur’s Seat
Palace of Holyroodhouse
Nessie!
Best view of the trip
Staying at the Glengorm castle, Isle of Mull
Standing stones, near Glengorm castle
Scotland is beautiful

  1. Another beautiful set of photos to share with us — thank you so much. You make travel seem so effortless and, despite your expected (and unexpected) challenges, you’ve created family memories that will last a lifetime for each of you and for those of us viewing from a “distance”!

  2. King David I Dunkeld of Scotland, 1084–1153, was the girls’ 26th great-grandfather. (blood related) He was a 12th-century ruler who was Prince of the Cumbrians from 1113 to 1124 and later King of Scotland from 1124 to 1153. The youngest son of Malcolm III and Margaret of Wessex, David spent most of his childhood in Scotland, but was exiled to England temporarily in 1093. Perhaps after 1100, he became a dependent at the court of King Henry I. There he was influenced by the Anglo-French culture of the court.
